Joel Funk

Joel is a second-year student who is specializing in International Business. Originally born in Paraguay and ended up living in Steinbach, Manitoba, he has been a self-employed subcontractor that installed waterproofing vinyl and aluminum railing system for both commercial and residential applications. Joel is looking forward to gaining a broader understanding of financial information and how to make good, logical decisions. His hobbies include golfing, snowboarding, and traveling.  

 
 

Zach Neufeld

Zack Neufeld is a second-year business student from Williams Lake, British Columbia, planning to double specialize in Finance and Leadership and Management. He is excited about gaining real-world experience with SMIF as a first-year Research Analyst. Upon graduation, he plans to return home and grow the family business.

 

Debora Herman

Deborah is a Pre-Law, second-year student who immigrated from Romania to Surrey, BC. She is currently completing two bachelors: a BBA specializing in Finance and a BA in Political Science. Deborah loves learning about different cultures and is fluent in multiple languages. James Troyer

James is a third-year student specializing in Finance and Marketing. Being from Fort St. John, BC, he has previous experiences working as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. Something James is looking forward to while being on the SMIF team is to further develop his personal investment strategy. Some of the things he enjoys doing in his spare time includes snowboarding and basketball.

 
 

Samuel Ndagijimana

Samuel is a first-year student studying Business Administration. Being from Kigali, Rwanda, he has experiences working with non-profit ministries and volunteering. Something Samuel is looking forward to this year being a part of the SMIF team is to be acquainted with the process of valuing companies, making well-informed investment decisions, and mainly being able to integrate faith into investing decisions to ensure good stewardship of God-given resources. His hobbies include sports like soccer, basketball, and swimming.

 

Cooper Cottrell

Cooper is a second-year student from North Vancouver, BC, specializing in finance. His experiences include working small-scale management as a student painter. Something he is looking forward to this year with SMIF is to learn more about DCF and finding some worthwhile companies to invest in as a Research Analyst. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, going hiking, and mountain biking.
